The City of La Porte has announced that this upcoming Saturday, May 16th, there will be a Household Hazardous Waste collection event.
The event will take place at La Porte County Fairgrounds from 9am to 2pm Central Time on Saturday.
The event is sponsored by La Porte County Solid Waste District and allows citizens to bring hazardous household waste such as batteries, fluorescent and LED light bulbs, medicines, and sharps such as needles and syringes; to be disposed of safely.
Please note that all hazardous waste must be brought in 5-gallon containers or smaller, and this event is for residents only, not businesses.

There will be additional hazardous household waste disposal dates in La Porte County, once a month through October of this year.
