It was one of 51 families recognized by Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch and Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Bruce Kettler at the Indiana State Museum.

Local Farms Honored with Hoosier Homestead Award
Five local farms were honored this week alongside 53 other Indiana farming families with the Hoosier Homestead Award in celebration of their 100-year-or-more commitment to Indiana agriculture. Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann said the state salutes their innovation, determination and dedication that have allowed them to succeed in agriculture for more than a century.
50 Families Honored with the Hoosier Homestead Award Friday
Fifty Hoosier families were honored with the presentation of the Hoosier Homestead Award by Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann and Indiana Agriculture Director Gina Sheets. Hoosier Homesteads are farms that have been owned by the same family for more than 100 consecutive years, and must produce at least $1000 worth of agricultural products per year or consist of at least 20 acres. The award ceremony took place on Friday at 1 p.m. in the North Atrium of the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis.
Pulaski County Families to Receive Hoosier Homestead Awards
Two Pulaski County families will be recognized today at the Indiana Statehouse with the Hoosier Homestead Award at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Leonard Farms will be recognized for having a family farm in the Pulaski County area for the past 100 years. The Plotner-Peter family will receive the Sesquicentennial Award for having a family farm for 150 years.
Pulaski, Marshall County Families to Receive Hoosier Homestead Awards
Lt. Governor Becky Skillman and Indiana Agriculture Director, Joe Kelsay, will present 72 families with the Hoosier Homestead Award on Wednesday, August 10th at 10:30 a.m. ET. The ceremony will take place in the Indiana Farm Bureau Building Auditorium at the Indiana State Fair.
