The North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation is updating its bus fleet. The school board recently approved the purchase of three 78-passenger IC Collins buses from Midwest Transit. The total cost ended up being just over $278,000, after trade-in allowances for three 2009 buses.

The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation has decided to go with a different manufacturer for this year’s round of bus purchases. The school board Monday approved the purchase of three 78-passenger Bluebird buses, for a total cost of about $276,000.

Shuman explained that the school corporation was looking to sell three buses as a part of their bus replacement plan. They had two 66 passenger buses that were included in one bid and then another bus that holds 54 passengers that was bid out on its own. Continue reading
