BraunAbility Announces Plans to Move Global Headquarters, Research & Development to Carmel

BraunAbility is moving its headquarters to Carmel. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation says the company will locate its global headquarters in Carmel’s Lakeside Green Business Center, while also building a new 20,000-square-foot Research & Development and Technology Center in the city. Manufacturing operations will stay in Winamac.

Secretary for Career Connections and Talent Outlines Efforts to Address Workforce Needs

How to fill the thousands of job vacancies that currently exist in Indiana while preparing Hoosiers for the jobs of tomorrow is the goal of Indiana’s secretary for career connections and talent. Secretary Blair Milo discussed some of her department’s objectives during a visit to Knox Wednesday. “When we think about career connections, I look at that as some of the challenge in the current landscape around us,” she explained. “We see across the State of Indiana that there are around 85,000 or so postings of jobs, where employers are seeking people to be able to fill those positions.”

American Licorice Company to Expand Operations in LaPorte

American Licorice Company is planning an expansion project in LaPorte.

The candy and licorice manufacturer from Bend, Ore. will invest approximately $10 million to equip and renovate its 285,000 square-foot facility at 1900 Whirlpool Drive in LaPorte. The expansion includes the installation of a licorice production line and the addition of a rail spur to allow the company to receive ingredients by rail.

Sabre Manufacturing to Expand

Sabre Manufacturing LLC, the Starke County Economic Development Foundation and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation announced plans for the expansion of operations at Sabre in Knox. Development Foundation Director, Charlie Weaver, says that Sabre manufactures temporary environmental equipment known as FRAC and WEIR tanks.
