A Knox man and woman are jailed on drug charges following an investigation by the Starke County Major Crimes Unit. Officers from the Knox Police Department and Starke County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at an Allen Drive residence in Knox on Thursday. They got a report around 10:45 a.m. of a man in a woods with a rifle and a strong chemical odor nearby. Sheriff’s Deputies Bust Meth Lab in Monterey, Two Arrested

Meth BustSheriff’s deputies attempting to serve a felony warrant at a residence in Monterey made two arrests after finding a meth lab. Starke County Sheriff’s Deputies were looking for Bradley Hartwell at a Hazel Street residence and found two men coming out the back door of the trailer when they arrived. Cops Find Meth Lab Across from Plymouth Police Department, Four Arrested

 
 

Officers from the Marshall County Police Department reportedly found multiple meth labs inside a duplex catty-corner from the Plymouth Police station while trying to serve a warrant yesterday. They were originally looking for James Corbett at 308 West Washington Street, and were told he was inside the home when they knocked on the door. They were invited in by the people who answered the door and saw narcotics in plain view, according to the police report. A search turned up multiple meth labs, precursors and drug paraphernalia. Corbett, 35, and his wife, Krista Corbett, 30, face A felony charges of manufacturing meth within 1,000 feet of a public housing unit, as does Nathaniel White, 26. Richard Milton, 42, was arrested for visiting a common nuisance. The Indiana State Police were called in to assist with the cleanup.

Scrap Metal Investigation Leads to Monterey Meth Bust

Two Monterey residents were arrested on Tuesday, April 24 after Pulaski County Sheriff’s deputies reportedly found an active meth lab at their residence.

Officers approached the home on Hazel Boulevard after an investigation was being conducted concerning the theft of scrap metal. Bart Shank, who was suspect of theft, had directed police to the residence to speak to Pete Rowe. He told police that he had been scrapping items with Rowe and said he lived at the address. When police arrived, one resident, Michael Babcock, told police he had never heard of Pete Rowe and that he and his girlfriend had been living at that residence for approximately two months.

Fred Boggess II Found Guilty

A Starke County jury found Fred Boggess II guilty of all five counts filed against him. The jury found him guilty of Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Chemical Reagents or Precursors with the Intent to Manufacture, Driving While Suspended and False Informing.

The two-day trial had several witnesses called to the stand in Starke Circuit Court, including an Indiana State Police officer who specializes in Clandestine Lab Team investigations.

Knox Man Arrested after Police Find Meth Lab in Car

Fred Boggess II, 30, of Knox was arrested Friday, July 8th after Starke County Police found a meth lab in his vehicle.

Boggess was pulled over on a routine traffic stop on Toto Road and 100 East in Starke County and officers found an active meth lab. The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was called to the scene to clean up the scene. Boggess II was arrested on preliminary charges of Illegal Drug Lab, Manufacturing Meth, False Informing, Possession of Meth, Possession of Precursors, Driving While Suspended-Prior and Habitual Offender. He is in the Starke County Jail on a $25,000 surety bond.
