Results Released from Recent DUI Task Force Sobriety Checkpoints
The LaPorte County DUI Task Force conducted three sobriety checkpoints in the evening hours of Aug. 29.
Members from the task force and a Sergeant from the Indiana State Police Lowell District were at three separate locations to help deter impaired driving and remove impaired drivers from roadways.
The results found that of the 210 vehicles stopped during the sobriety checkpoints one person was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, three citations were given and 12 warnings were issued. Indiana State Police, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department to Step up DUI Patrols
Troopers from the Indiana State Police, Lowell District will be participating in a drunk driving blitz beginning tomorrow.
Through Sunday, March 18th, officers will work overtime to conduct high-visibility enforcement activities designed specifically to identify impaired drivers. You will see an increased number of officers patrolling for aggressive drivers and unrestrained motorists during the 17-day mobilization.
Ryan Hovarter Named Probationary Trooper within the Indiana State Police-Lowell District
Indiana has 43 new probationary troopers assigned to state police districts throughout the State. Members of the 70th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy took their oath of office on March 4th at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center.
The recruits received approximately 917 hours of structured training since September 9th, 2010. Their curriculum included administrative subjects, general police subjects, investigations/criminal subjects, criminal and traffic law subjects.
