Knox Mayor Mentions Success of Spring Dumpster Days Event, Suggests Holding More than One During the Year

Knox Mayor Dennis Estok acknowledged the success of the Dumpster Days Spring Clean-Up event when the City Council met last Thursday.

According to skip hire Glasgow, a total of three dumpsters were utilized when the event was held on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th.

Knox Dumpster Days to Be Held at Wastewater Treatment Plant this Saturday and Sunday

The Knox Mayor’s Office issued a reminder that “ Spring Clean-Up Dumpster Days” will be held this weekend.

Residents can drop items off from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday May 20th. The dumpsters will be located in Wythogan Park, at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in the rear of the park.

Check-In Procedure to Be Added to Knox Spring Clean-Up Days

Mayor Dennis Estok alerted Knox City Council members of some changes that will be made to procedures for Spring Clean-Up Days this year.

During Tuesday night’s city council meeting, Mayor Estok said there were some issues with last year’s event.

“Basically we are changing the format on that,” Estok explained, “last year, we went through a record-high 8 dumpsters at a cost of four thousand some dollars. Probably fifty or sixty percent of the stuff coming in was from out of town residents.” Continue reading
