Two Arrested on Methamphetamine Charges

Two Knox residents were arrested on drug charges after a month-long investigation conducted by investigators from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say they found 31-year-old Matthew Bradley hiding in a residence in the 3,000 S. block of 100 W. in North Judson on Tuesday, Aug 15. Bradley was detained along with 25-year-old Haley Marshall after methamphetamine-related items were found inside the room where Bradley was found, according to the report.

Several People Receive Sentences in Starke Circuit Court

The Starke Circuit Court was up to its ears in plea and sentencing hearings this week, as a number of people pleaded guilty to charges against them and received their sentences from Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall.

Priscilla Bodine pleaded guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance as a Class D felony, while Timothy Bodine entered a guilty plea for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Receiving Stolen Property as Class D felonies. Priscilla was sentenced to 13 months in the Department of Corrections with the entirety of her sentence suspended to be served on probation. Timothy received a sentence of 14 months for both counts, and seven months was suspended for both counts against him; the sentences will be served concurrently. He will serve those seven suspended months on probation, while the executed sentence will be served on home detention with electronic monitoring through Starke County Community Corrections.

Matthew Bradley pleaded guilty on Wednesday to Theft as a Class D felony and was sentenced to 18 months in the Department of Corrections. His 18-month sentence was suspended with the exception of the 106 days he served in Starke County Jail. He will serve 12 months on probation.

Two Arrested Following Gas Siphoning Incident

A Knox man was arrested Wednesday after an alleged theft incident.

William Duncan told police that gasoline had been stolen out of his truck that was parked in his driveway. He listed a possible suspect and police began their investigation.

Police went to the suspect, Matthew Bradley’s, residence and questioned him about the theft. He denied any involvement. The reporting officer found that Bradley’s shoes matched the shoe prints found at the scene, and Bradley allegedly told police that someone else stole the gas, but when he was asked about what he did with the gas, he said he put in in Sarah Drabik’s car. He was detained by police.

Three Theft Arrests Reported In Plymouth

Plymouth police officers arrested three people for theft on Tuesday in three different incidents.

Matthew S. Bradley of Knox was arrested after Dollar General employees reported a theft at the store. The employees gave police a description of his vehicle and the vehicle was found in the Walgreens parking lot. The officer reportedly found a knife and packaging next to him in the vehicle. Bradley was arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft.
