The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) has confirmed a case of measles in a Lake County resident. The risk to the public is low, but health officials continue to investigate the case along with local public health officials. No other information about the case will be released to protect patient privacy. This is the first case in Indiana since 2019.

Measles Case Confirmed in Bloomington
Officials at Indiana University are working to identify potential measles cases and prevent further transmission of the disease. State health officials have confirmed a case of measles in an IU student. The student did not attend classes while infectious and does not live on campus, according to health officials. The individual visited the IU Health Bloomington Hospital emergency department and a CVS pharmacy while infectious on March 24. Reported Measles Cases up to 14
14 cases of the measles have now been confirmed in Central Indiana.
All confirmed cases of measles stem from the initial case which was identified in early February. State health officials stay that no measles cases have been reported as a result of the exposure which occurred at the Super Bowl Village on February 3rd.
13 Measles Cases Reported in Indiana
13 cases of the measles have been reported in Indiana. The cases confirmed have been identified in Boone and Hamilton counties.
The Indiana State Department of Health continues to work with local health departments, health care providers and all organizations to identify additional cases of measles and to prevent further transmission of the disease.
