Oregon-Davis High School students will be able to take Aviation or AP Art classes next school year. The school board finalized the 2019-2020 Course Description Guide Monday. The new aviation courses will be based at Plymouth Municipal Airport and will be available to high students throughout the local area through the North Central Area Vocational Cooperative.

Area Principal to Head Vocational Cooperative
An area high school will soon be looking for a new principal.
“The Culver Citizen” reports Culver Community High School Principal Albert Hanselman is leaving at the end of the school year. He’s not going far, though. Hanselman will take over as director of the North Central Area Vocational Cooperative on July 1st. Jerry Hollenbaugh is retiring from that position.
New Vocational Opportunity for Local High School Students
A new vocational class is being offered at Plymouth Schools for students in the North Central Area Vocational Cooperative. Plymouth Schools, the Vocational Cooperative, Ivy Tech and ITAMCO are offering a dual credit course to help teach students CNC and machinist industrial skills. The idea is to bridge a technology gap so these students can be ready when they enter college or the industrial workforce out of high school.
Vocational Cooperative Director Jerry Hollenbaugh said this couldn’t have been done without the partnership of all involved.
Welding Program Announced For High School Students
The Starke County Economic Development Foundation and the SCILL Center have announced the start of a new welding program for high school students within the North Central Area Vocational Cooperative in Starke, Marshall, St. Joseph and Fulton Counties.
The program currently has a full class of 12 students and certified welder Andrew Odle is the instructor of the program.
