The North Judson-San Pierre Junior/Senior High School principal is stepping down. Jim Polite’s resignation was accepted by the school board Tuesday. Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin said he’s taken a position closer to home.

A program implemented this school year allows 7th and 8th grade students at North Judson-San Pierre more time to study the subjects of language-arts and math. The 7th and 8th Grade Academy is approximately 70 minutes of Math and 70 minutes of English class daily. The students sit through the length of a regular class session and then an additional 20-25 minutes is allotted for teachers to engage with students in more detail. Continue reading

N.J.-S.P. Adds Additional Math and English Instructional Time
The North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation is taking significant steps to raise standardized test scores for 7th and 8th grade students. N.J.-S.P. Board Approves School Improvement Plans
The two principals at North Judson-San Pierre schools have finalized their school improvement plans ahead of the state’s Dec. 1 deadline to submit them.
Even though ISTEP scores are still embargoed, both elementary Principal Mike McBride and junior/senior high school Principal Jim Polite are anticipating sub-par math scores.
McBride did tell the school board Tuesday that 98 percent of 3rd graders passed the IREAD test, and other indicators point to strong reading proficiency. Continue reading
