A bank robbery in DeMotte and a police chase into Porter County reportedly led to the arrest of two Gary residents Wednesday. The Kankakee Valley Post News says DeMotte Police were called to the Fifth Third Bank just before noon.

A Knox woman ended up having a baby in the backseat of a car Monday, before she could make it to the hospital.
The Northwest Indiana Times says it happened shortly after 9:00 a.m. in Valparaiso. The woman’s husband was driving her to Porter Regional Hospital, when he had to pull over near State Road 49 and Vale Park Road. The 32-year-old woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy with no complications.
Convicted Murderer, Child Molester Found Not Guilty of Failure to Register As a Sex Offender
A convicted murderer and child molester has been found not guilty of failure to register as a sex offender. The Northwest Indiana Times says Richard Dobeski was cleared of the charges last week by Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall following a bench trial. The case had been moved out of LaPorte County.
Winamac Man Dies, Following Crash with Kouts Police Car
A Winamac man is dead after colliding with a Kouts police car Sunday night. The Northwest Indiana Times says Robert Lindsey, 45, was driving northbound on Baums Bridge Road around 9:15 p.m.
Thanksgiving Recipe Ingredients from Marilyn Monroe
Leave it up to Phil Potempa of the Northwest Indiana Times to come up with the ingredients to a Thanksgiving recipe from the late blond bombshell Marilyn Monroe. The actress was known for a lot of things, but cooking was never one of them. But Phil has found the ingredients in a new book about Marilyn entitled “Fragments: Poems, Intimate Notes, and Letters.” The ingredients were found on page 180 of the book and included water soaked sourdough bread, chicken livers and hearts, ground beef, hard boiled eggs, raisins, grated parmesan cheese, nuts, herbs, onion, parsley and celery. Now those are the ingredients. The only problem is Phil didn’t tell us how much of everything to use.
