Indiana State Police troopers will join forces with other law enforcement agencies across the nation to participate in Operation C.A.R.E.
State Police To Increase Patrol Efforts This Weekend
The Indiana State Police will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. this weekend.
The Combined Accident Reduction Effort will be patrolling and looking for motorists who are drinking and driving, speeding, following too closely and driving aggressively. Troopers will also be enforcing all seat belt and child restraint laws.
This patrol is in addition to the Operation Pull Over Blitz which continues until Monday, Sept. 3.
The Indiana Department of Transportation will be ceasing roadwork until the morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 4 to allow you to travel safely and efficiently this weekend. Some closures and restrictions will remain on larger projects that cannot safely reopen to traffic.
Indiana State Police to Step up Efforts This Holiday
The Indiana State Police will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) from now until July 8. Statistics show that so far this year, 36 more people have lost their lives in accidents than this same time last year.
Operation C.A.R.E. is a federally funded program and will allow approximately 150 additional troopers to patrol area roadways during the Fourth of July holiday. Troopers will be targeting impaired drivers and motorists who speed, follow too closely, make unsafe lane changes, drive aggressively or fail to use their seat belt.
