No Comments Offered on Oregon-Davis Budget Proposal

No one from the public came to comment on the Oregon-Davis School Corporation’s 2022 budget during last month’s public hearing, according to Superintendent Bill Bennett. The proposed budget totals more than $9.9 million. That includes an Education Fund of over $3.9 million, an Operations Fund of more than $3.2 million, and a Referendum Fund of almost $1.1 million.

Oregon-Davis School Board to Explore Other Options for HVAC Project

The Oregon-Davis School Corporation may be starting over with its HVAC project. Superintendent Bill Bennett says the school board decided last week to discontinue services with EMCOR, a year and a half after it hired the company as a guaranteed savings provider.

Oregon-Davis Officials Discuss Teacher Compensation Challenges with Rep. Pressel

Despite an increase in education funding, the state’s teacher compensation targets could still pose some challenges for Oregon-Davis Schools. State Representative Jim Pressel touted Indiana’s $1.9 billion school funding increase during last month’s school board meeting. “That’s huge, so 50 percent of the whole state’s budget of $37 billion,” Pressel says. “It’s about $9 billion a year, and if I did my math right, Oregon-Davis should receive about $700 per child more in the ADM count.”
