Pulaski County residents have a chance to weigh in on a proposed small business relief program during this morning’s county commissioners meeting. A public hearing will be held on the county’s application for $250,000 from the state’s COVID-19 Response Program. If approved, that money would then be used to provide grants to Pulaski County businesses, similar to a program that recently took place in the City of Knox.

Starke County Plan Commission Updates Fee Schedule
An updated permit fee schedule for unincorporated areas of Starke County was approved Wednesday by the County Plan Commission. No comments on the proposed changes were offered from the public. Proposed Permit Fee Amendment to Zoning Ordinance Passes on First Reading
The Marshall County Commissioners held a public hearing on the proposed increase in building permit and improvement location fees Monday morning.
Several of the fees increased by $5 while others jumped considerably. Plan Director Ralph Booker explained that the fees will help cover costs. The fees haven’t been amended for several years.
Permit fees for accessory structures larger than 1,601 square feet rose from $80 to $100 for structures up to 2,000 square feet. Permit fees for accessory structures larger than 2,000 square feet will be $150.
