Tri-Township School Board Votes to Begin Financing Process for High School Relocation

The Tri-Township School Board took action Thursday that paves the way for the closure of the 105-year-old LaCrosse school building. Board members passed a resolution to proceed with the bond process for a high school addition to the Wanatah School. The project would add five classrooms plus support spaces and infrastructure for a total cost of almost $2.6 million.

Oregon-Davis School Board Approves Slight Raise in 2020-2021 Teacher Contract

Oregon-Davis teachers are getting a slight pay raise. The school board approved the 2020-2021 teacher contract by a vote of three-to-zero last week, according to Superintendent Bill Bennett. “The highlights of this year’s new contract include teachers receiving a $1,500 one-time stipend, as well as an increase on their base pay of $275,” Bennett says.

Starke County Plan Commission Postpones Solar Farm Hearing to Next Week

Bass Lake-area residents will have to wait until next week to weigh in on a rezoning request that would pave the way for a potential solar farm. A company called Starke Solar, LLC is asking Starke County to rezone more than 800 acres in California and North Bend townships on the south side of Bass Lake, mainly from residential to agricultural. That, in turn, would allow for the installation of solar panels.

Pulaski Council to Consider Tax Abatement for Confined Feeding Operation Tonight

The Pulaski County Council will take comments tonight on a tax abatement request for a confined feeding operation. Derrick and Abbie Stalbaum are seeking a property tax abatement for a facility they’re building on County Road 1050 West in Rich Grove Township. A public hearing will be held before council members make a final decision.

Pulaski County BZA Approves Mammoth Solar Project but Adds a Number of Stipulations

A Pulaski County solar farm proposal can keep moving ahead, but with a number of stipulations. The county’s board of zoning appeals Monday unanimously approved a special exception request for the proposed Mammoth Solar project but added a list of conditions and commitments for the developer.
