Pulaski Council, Commissioners to Discuss Justice Center Bond during Special Joint Session

Pulaski County’s proposed facilities upgrades will be up for discussion during a special joint county council and commissioners meeting tonight. Back in 2019, the commissioners chose a general path forward to renovate the historic courthouse and expand the Justice Center. But the courthouse portion of the work was largely put on the back burner earlier this year, when the commissioners decided to hold off on approving a construction manager contract.

Tippy’s Loan Request to Be Considered by Pulaski County Commissioners Tonight

A Winamac restaurant’s request for more financial help from Pulaski County is expected to be considered by the county commissioners tonight. Tippy’s is requesting money through the county’s Revolving Loan Fund to help relocate the business, according to draft minutes from the February Community Development Commission meeting. The business is still paying off a similar loan from its last move.

Pulaski Council to Consider Coroner’s Office Pay and Benefit Adjustments Tonight

The Pulaski County Council will consider a few changes to the Coroner’s Office tonight. Coroner Jon Frain is asking to get the same health insurance and retirement benefits as the county’s other elected officials. As a first step, the county commissioners voted last month to recommend that the council make the coroner a full-time position.
