Proposed changes to Pulaski County’s wind turbine regulations still aren’t ready to go to a public hearing. On Tuesday, the county’s advisory plan commission picked up the discussion from its previous meeting about the county’s Unified Development Ordinance.
Pulaski County Commissioners to Advertise for New EMS Director
The search is on for a new Pulaski County Emergency Medical Services director. The county commissioners decided Monday to advertise the opening for two weeks in the Pulaski County Journal, Francesville Tribune, Pulaski Post, and Logansport Pharos-Tribune. They hope to hire someone in January.
Judge Blankenship Announces Retirement from Pulaski Superior Court
Pulaski Superior Court Judge Patrick Blankenship is stepping down. In a letter to Pulaski County residents appearing in this week’s Pulaski County Journal, Blankenship says he’s retiring from his position to pursue other avenues that have been offered to him. Continue reading
Prominent Winamac Citizen Passes Away
Beverly Powers, 72, of Winamac, passed away Sunday in Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Beverly, at one time, was in our profession writing first for The Leader and then the Pulaski County Journal. Her column “From My Little Corner of the Room” was a “ must read” of all who read the Journal regularly. She was involved with scores of organizations and in her lifetime, participated in many worthwhile causes in her community.
