The west entrance to the Winamac Town Park could soon become a little safer. Town manager and park board member Brad Zellers told the rest of the board Thursday that the town plans to apply for a Community Crossings Grant to ease the slope of Main Street east of Riverside Drive.

The Pulaski County Council narrowly decided to keep the same president for another year. Ken Boswell was reelected to the position last week by a vote of four-to-three, over Rudy DeSabatine. DeSabatine was then nominated for another year as vice-president, but was defeated by new council member Adam Loehmer, also by a vote of four-to-three.

They’re looking to hold a commissioners deed sale on August 1, but before that, they’ll hold a public hearing to set a minimum price and officially schedule the auction. The public hearing will take place Monday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Pulaski County Highway Garage, before the commissioners’ joint meeting with the county council.

Safety Upgrades Suggested for Winamac Town Park’s West Entrance
The Winamac Park Board is once again looking at safety upgrades for the west entrance to the Town Park. During a special meeting Monday, resident Brian Ledley told board members it’s difficult to see oncoming traffic while walking west on Main Street. He pointed out that while the street has a sidewalk, it contains steps. That makes it unsuitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
Pulaski County Public Library to Get New Elevator, Flood Repairs
