The Indiana Heart Gallery is stopping at the Pulaski County Public Library in Winamac.
The gallery features portraits of children in need of adoptive families. The Heart Gallery is used by the Indiana Department of Child Services to help raise awareness about children in foster care in need of a forever home. More than 1000 children in Indiana are in need of a home.
The Indiana Heart Gallery will display a dozen portraits daily from Aug. 5 to Aug. 26 at the Pulaski County Public Library in Winamac. The exhibit may be viewed Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET.
Summer is quickly approaching and with it comes Summer Reading at the Pulaski County Public Library. The 2013 Summer Reading program begins on Tuesday, May 28, when readers of all ages can take part in the games, crafts, presentations and prizes that are offered at this annual event.
This summer’s theme is “Dig Into Reading,” for kids up to 12 years old, while the theme for teens ages 13-18 is “Beneath the Surface.” Participants receive points for checking out and reading books rom the library, and prizes will be awarded as points are earned while the top readers in the age groups will receive a copy of their favorite book in library binding.
The staff at the Pulaski County Public Library will be participating in the fourth annual celebration of Choose Privacy Week May 1–7.

The staff will feature technology help on Tuesday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you’ve been to the library and need help accessing library services from your tech device, all of your questions will be answered during this time.
The Pulaski County Public Library is working hard at expanding its services, and to that end, the library has added digital magazine and MP3 music file downloads to its collection. The library’s website now offers access to more than 3 million downloadable songs, including access to The Freegal Music Service, an online database with legal music files that do not expire and are compatible with nearly all devices.
Pulaski County Public Library resident cardholders are eligible for three MP3 downloads per week, available online at www.pulaskicounty.lib.in.us. Library officials expect Freegal will appeal to patrons of all ages and musical tastes, and librarians will be happy to assist users with the new service.
Santa Claus is coming to Pulaski County! He’ll be making himself at home at the Pulaski County Public Library in Winamac on Thursdays and Saturdays from Dec. 6 to 22.
The library has already been all decked out for the season, with a decorated tree in the reading room and a wonderful winter scene throughout the library. Santa will be at the library to pose for pictures and hear children’s Christmas wishes this season.
