Railroad Crossing Repairs Cause Road Closure
INDOT recently began some rail road crossing repairs that will cause a closure impacting commuters and residents of Starke County.
Norfolk Southern Railroad Company is renewing and repairing a railroad crossing near Knox, causing the closure of State Road 8 between County Road N. 100 E. and County Road N. 200 E.
This closure will last from Monday, September 18th until Friday, September 29th. Norfolk will only be closing this section of State road 8 for railroad crossing rehabilitation. Continue reading
Former Sportsman’s Site Debris Causes Street Closures During Wind Gusts
Officials with the Town of Monterey are attempting to alleviate concerns over recent street closures in the community.
The issue started more than one week ago during high winds. The weather allegedly caused debris at the former Sportsman’s Bar and Grill site to damage part of a temporary wooden fence. That debris was then spotted blowing into Main and Walnut Streets.
INDOT to Close Portion of U.S. 6 for Construction
INDOT has announced the closure of U.S. 6 between U.S. 31 and Lilac Road beginning June 3 to ensure driver safety while crews work on the U.S. 31/U.S. 6 interchange as part of the new U.S. 31 project. The road closure is expected to last through early September 2013.
A detour will take eastbound traffic south on U.S. 31, east on U.S. 30, north on S.R. 331, and back to U.S. 6. Westbound traffic will travel south on S.R. 331, west on U.S. 30, north on U.S. 31, and back to U.S. 6.
