The City of Knox is cautiously moving ahead with plans for summer events. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council last week that he’s booked two bands for July’s Fun Day in the Park, while Magic Bus will perform the night before, thanks to a grant from the Rural Indiana Performance Fund.

Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council last week that the city didn’t really have an option. “There’s no way we could meet any of the conditions set forth to have a gathering over 250 down there, so we just went ahead and canceled it,” he explained.

The City of Knox has gotten a $3,000 grant to bring a 1960s tribute band to this year’s Fall Bash. It’s part of the Rural Indiana Performance Fund, a partnership between Arts Midwest and the Indiana Arts Commission that helps bring professional performing arts programs to audiences with limited access to them.
