The Culver Community Schools Corporation will continue to get nursing services from Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Last week, the school board approved a contract amendment that will extend the agreement for a second year, according to Superintendent Karen Shuman.

The Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, with hospitals in Mishawaka and Plymouth, released a statement where they assured the residents that they are prepared to respond to the Ebola virus with care.
According to a statement on their website, SJRMC officials they say that clinicians are well trained to identify, to care for and to monitor potentially high-risk patients and provide treatment in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s infectious disease procedures.
The Marshall County Council members approved additional appropriation requests from Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger in the amount of $26,500 to cover costs.
Cleavenger explained that this has been a rather active year for his department. He has had to oversee more autopsies than anticipated and more incidents in which to respond. Approximately $21,000 was needed for the autopsy line item, $4,000 for toxicology, $1,000 for radiology and $500 for morgue supplies.

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth and Mishawaka are among those hospitals implementing restrictions, prohibiting any visitors under the age of 18 and allowing only healthy adults to visit. In addition, only two visitors per patient are allowed at a time.
