A total of 240 tons of salt and sand mixture have been used in North Judson this winter season, according to Town Superintendent Marshall Horstmann.
At Monday night’s town council meeting, Horstmann submitted a purchase order of approximately $2,055 to Morton’s Salt for an additional 40 tons of road salt. Continue reading
The mild winter has been good to Pulaski County’s road salt reserves.
Around 20 tons have been used so far, a drop in the bucket for what the county uses during a typical winter. So far, road crews in Pulaski County have only been out de-icing the roads a couple of times. More snow is expected in the area as the winter season progresses.

Road salt supplies in Starke County should last until the weather warms.
That’s according to Starke County Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler. He says at the current rate of usage, road salt should last through March. This cycle, no road salt was used in November and December.
