Culver Storm Water Project Moving Along, Says Schoeff

culver town hall
The town of Culver’s storm water project is moving right along, according to Town Manager David Schoeff. He told WKVI the project is now in its design stages, and he’s hoping to have the project out for bids sometime in June.

The project had most recently gone through the drainage board for their approval to work on their drains, and Schoeff said that now that they’ve received that approval, it’s just a matter of making some adjustments on the design. The project’s engineering firm, Commonwealth Engineers, is now working on those changes, and Schoeff said he expects within the next few weeks to have something to review preliminarily before it’s advertised for bids.

The storm water project carries an estimated cost of $892,000, and Schoeff said they’ve received a grant from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs for $792,000, leaving the town with a $100,000 expense. He said the town has had a lot of luck getting grants for projects like these and, hopefully, the luck will continue.
