North Judson-San Pierre to Go after Income Tax Refunds to Collect Unpaid Debt

North Judson-San Pierre will now be able to intercept state income tax refunds to collect unpaid debt. The school board last week approved a memorandum of understanding for the Tax Refund Exchange and Compliance System (TRECS), after members generally voiced their support last month.

Winamac Collects Almost $4,500 in Unpaid Bills by Intercepting Income Tax Refunds

Intercepting residents’ state income tax refunds for unpaid utility bills is starting to bring in some money for the Town of Winamac. Clerk-Treasurer Melanie Berger told the town council Monday that the town has collected almost $4,500 through the Tax Refund and Exchange Compliance System.

City of Knox Gains New Tool for Collecting Money Owed on Delinquent Accounts

The City of Knox will receive some assistance with delinquent accounts, following a decision made by City Council members last week.

When members met last Wednesday, they permitted Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston and Mayor Dennis Estok to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Local Government Clearing house.
