A water main break had southbound U.S. 35 closed on the south side of Winamac Tuesday afternoon. INDOT said the southbound lanes were closed between Ontario Street and County Road 100 South.

Residents on the northeast side of Knox no longer have to boil their water before drinking it. Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston says the boil water order has been lifted as of Tuesday morning.

A boil water order remains in effect for residents on the northeast side of Knox. Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston says the water is back on, following an earlier water main break. But affected residents should continue to boil drinking water for at least the next couple of days. Houston says residents under the boil order will be notified by flier.

The Town of LaCrosse is under a boil water advisory until at least Friday. To fix a water main break near the intersection of U.S. 421 and State Road 8, water had to be turned off to the entire town Tuesday evening, according to a Town of LaCrosse Facebook post.

Hamlet’s utility staff battled a water main break at the trailer park Wednesday. Town Council President Dave Kesvormas gave an update during Wednesday’s meeting. “From what they understand, it’s between two trailers, underneath part of a trailer,” he explained. “So they’re going to basically go around it and take the bad stuff out and go from there.”
