Pulaski County has decided to chip in $30,000 to help the Indian Trails Career Cooperative upgrade its equipment and train teachers. Indian Trails requested $100,000 from each of the five counties it serves to apply for a Skill UP grant from the state. Any money committed locally would be matched three-to-one, if Indian Trails is selected.
West Central to Host 17th Annual Veterans Day Program on Friday
West Central Schools will host their 17th Annual Veterans Day program at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 10th. The ceremony is open to the public and local veterans are encouraged to attend.
Former West Central student Eric Rodriguez will be the guest speaker. He is enlisted in the U.S. Navy and his current rank is Senior Chief Petty Officer. Rodriguez started his naval career in May of 1995. Continue reading
West Central Schools to Help Donate Toward Cheryl Lyn Welter Charitable Foundation
Harold Welter presented information about the Cheryl Lyn Welter Charitable Foundation to the West Central School Board on Thursday night. Superintendent Don Street said the board members were happy to help raise funds to help underprivileged students.

Knox, N.J.-S.P. High Schools See Improvement in School Accountability Grades
Three local elementary schools saw their letter grades decline in the latest round of School Accountability Grades. Oregon-Davis, Eastern Pulaski, and West Central elementary schools all got a C for the 2016-2017 school year, down from a B the year before. Culver Community Middle/High School also went from a B to a C.
Student Registration Set for West Central Schools
School officials at the West Central School Corporation have announced the time and dates to register for the 2017-2018 school year. West Central registration will be Monday, July 31st from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday. August 1st from 3p.m. to 7 p.m. ET.
Along with many schools in the listening area, West Central is offering students the opportunity to register online. Those wishing to register online can do so at www.wcsc.k12.in.us. Online registration will open on Monday, July 31st at 6 a.m. and close on Tuesday, August 1st at midnight.
