A jury of nine men and three women were seated yesterday in the trial of Fred Boggess II in Starke Circuit Court. The trial then began where the State called four witnesses. The fourth witness was an Indiana State Police Lab Team officer and he will resume with testimony this morning when the court convenes at 9:00 a.m.
Boggess, of Knox, was arrested Friday, July 8th, after Starke County Police found a meth lab in his vehicle after a routine traffic stop. He was charged with Illegal Drug Lab, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, False Informing, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors, Driving While Suspended-Prior and Habitual Offender. The Indiana State Police also filed a charge of Identity Deception after he gave police a false name and date of birth when pulled over the day prior to the Starke County incident.
