The Knox Board of Public Works will be opening bids Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 9:30 a.m. for the CADA project.
The Coalition Against Domestic Abuse recently received a grant for a construction project at the Phoenix House. The money will be used to extend the garage at the Phoenix House, that was destroyed in a flood a few years ago.
The Phoenix House is a transitional housing program for victims of domestic violence and their dependent children. The additional space will add meeting/advocacy rooms for clients, additional office space and storage space for donated items for victims of domestic abuse. A restroom will also be built for convenience of advocacy volunteers.
The Board of Works will open bids and will take those under consideration for approval at a later date. The meeting will take place in Knox City Hall.
