A Meet the Candidates Night is set for Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 6–8 p.m. at the Knox Community Center.
Candidates will be allowed five minutes to speak during the event. In the U.S. Senate race, a representative for Democratic U.S. Senate–candidate Joe Donnelly–will appear along with Libertarian candidate Andrew “Andy” Horning. A representative for Brendan Mullen will appear on his behalf as he campaigns for the U.S. Representative District 2 seat. Libertarian U.S. Representative District 2 candidate Joseph Ruiz will attend.
Republican Ed Charbonneau will speak as a candidate for State Senator in District 5 along with Republican Tom Dermody for State Representative in District 20. Both candidates running for State Representative District 16 will be there: Democrat Richard W. (Rich) Ludington and Republican Douglas L. Gutwein.
Starke County Commissioner District 3 candidates, Republican Kent Danford and Daniel Bridegroom, are set to speak along with all of the Starke County Council At-Large candidates which include Republicans Bryan Cavender, Talia Reed and Bruce Williams and Democrats Freddie G. Baker, Judy J. Benninghoff and Bob Sims.
The school board candidates and township trustee candidates will not be speaking due to time constraints.
