The Knox Community School Board approved an appropriation worth $21,000 in order to pay for expenditures for the special election held earlier this month.
The amount was a little more than estimated but now all of the expenses can be paid with the approval of this appropriation.
A special election was held May 7 where a special question was featured on the ballot for voters in the Knox school district asking to help fund a construction and rehabilitation project at the Knox Elementary School in the aging Palmer Wing section of the school.
The referendum did not pass with 556 of the voters voting against the project while 458 voters were in favor of the project.
Superintendent A.J. Gappa said no major decisions have been made concerning the Palmer Wing at this time. He said the staff and the students will continue to go along as they have in the past.
