The Knox Community School Board approved several business items for the next school year.
Superintendent A.J Gappa announced that the breakfast and lunch prices will not change for the next school year. The breakfast price will stay at $1.15. The lunch price at the elementary school will remain at $1.75 and the lunch price at the middle and high schools will remain at $2. The board approved the prices.
The board also approved the credit activities for the band and choir students, field trips for the upcoming school year and the many fundraisers planned. The field trips and fundraisers are the same that have been offered for the past several years.
The board also discussed the purchase of a 14-passenger mini bus at a cost of $40,673 and a large 72-passenger bus at a cost of $74,591. These buses would be purchased used from Mid-West transit. They are one-year lease turn-ins and Superintendent Gappa said they have approximately 14,000 miles or less on them. Gappa added that they are saving a great deal by buying them off the lease program rather than buying new. The board approved the purchase of those buses.
