“I’m not gonna have the fairgrounds open for a while because it’s still so wet back in there that anybody that tries to pull off the road and park, they’re either going to end up stuck or leaving big ruts everywhere they go. The front end’s open, the restrooms are open in the park and we’re trying to get back to business as best we can,” said Dilts.
Dilts said the water level has dropped to below nine feet and is, for the most part, off the road after peaking at 12.8 feet. Crews are working diligently to get the fairgrounds up to par in preparation for the fair which is coming up in a few short weeks, but Dilts said he does not know when the back part of the park will be reopened.
