Hamlet Police Department Seeking Reserve Officers

The Hamlet Police Department is seeking reserve officers to help staff their department. According to release from Town Marshal Frank Lonigro III, applicants must be at least 21 years old prior to appointment, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Indiana driver’s license and a hangun permit and be a resident of Starke County or one of its neighboring counties in Indiana.

Applicants cannot have ever been convicted of a felony and must comply with all Hamlet Police Department standard operation procedures and maintain an active member status. Applicants must be able to pass ILEA physical fitness entrance standards.

Applications must be in by Aug. 7 and can be obtained at the Hamlet Town Hall, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT.
