Many Activities Going on in Knox this Weekend

Downtown Knox will be bustling today with a veteran’s parade and the free WoodStarke Festival at Wythogan Park. The parade organized by the Blue Star Mothers will begin at 10 a.m. CT at Five Star and concludes at the Starke County Courthouse. U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly, Representative Jackie Walorski and veterans will speak on the courthouse steps after the parade concludes. Veterans, service members and their families are invited afterward to lunch at Knox United Methodist Church. WoodStarke kicks off at noon in Wythogan Park with corn hole tournaments, a farmer’s market and art in the park display featuring works by local artists. The HealthLinc Mobile Unit will be on hand for dental services and Affordable Care Act assistance. There will be an opportunity to learn line dancing and the hula along with open mic activities. Moving Starke County Forward will have a One Mile at a Time walk around the park. Today’s event is a wrap up of the summer’s Another Step Forward walking challenge. Teams and individuals tracked their steps in an effort to improve overall health and fitness. The team from WKVI won this year’s challenge.
