A tractor-trailer versus car crash on U.S. 30 in Hamlet late this morning claimed a life. The Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police and Hamlet Police Department are investigating the wreck. It happened around 11:30 at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Frontage Road. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Starke County Coroner Kris Rannells tells WKVI News the driver’s family has not been notified, and his name has not been released. The semi driver was taken to IU Health Starke Hospital for treatment. His name has not been released either.
