Not one member of the public attended Monday night’s hearing on the 2016 budget of the Knox Community Schools.
In the hearing presentation, Superintendent A.J. Gappa reported a total budget of $20.7 million. A little over $7 million is to be raised by a levy. The figures are expected to be adjusted somewhat by the State Board of Accounts. The hearing notice had been published in The Leader, on the internet, and in news stories here on WKVI. A special meeting for adoption of the budget is set for Monday, Oct. 5th.
Friday’s enrollment count was 1,889 students. That is up 46 students from last spring and 23 from last fall.
