Teachers in the West Central School Corporation will see an increase in their base pay under terms of a contract approved last week by the school board. Superintendent Don Street says they will each get a $1,000 raise.
Superintendent Don Street says the board and teachers union will now work out a compensation model in accordance with state requirements as part of next year’s contract. It addresses stipends and pay. Street says they’re looking at models in use elsewhere during this transition year in order to find one that best fits West Central’s needs. The revised state law did away with increment pay raises and also transitioned some contract language into the teacher handbook.
