Knox Officials Hope to Wrap Up Income Surveys Soon

Knox officials are still collecting income surveys from city residents in an effort to proceed with a state grant application. They’re applying for funds from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs to add on to the south side fire station. The grant application requires an income survey be done as part of the process.

Fire Chief Kenny Pfost told the board of works Wednesday they’ve got about 155 more surveys to go. Firefighters have been going door-to-door to gather information, and Knox Mayor Dennis Estok is also collecting data. Knox Water Department employees will also attempt to complete surveys in the course of their work.

All information gathered as part of the process will be kept strictly confidential. Also survey responses will not require residents to give out personal information. The surveys need to be completed by March 10th.
