The West Central School Corporation is projecting further enrollment declines. This comes after the corporation reported losing 20 students between September and February.
Superintendent Don Street says West Central’s enrollment currently sits at 804 students. “By projecting for the 2017-18 school year, we could have a projection of approximately 785 students,” he says. “We’re hoping that that number would obviously be higher, but that’s projecting a lower kindergarten amount of students than what we’ve had in the past.”
Street says the corporation will have a clearer picture of its future enrollment after its kindergarten roundup on April 6.
