First Movie in the Park Event to Take Place Tonight in North Judson

The first Starke County movie in the park event will take place tonight in North Judson. The Starke County Young Professionals Group will host a free screening of “The Jungle Book” at 8:00 p.m. at Norwayne Field. It’s planned to be the first of a series of movies that will be shown the first Saturday of every month through September.

North Judson Clerk-Treasurer Alicia Collins says town officials are excited that the group will be using Norwayne Field. She says that local businesses have offered to cover the $375 licensing fee. The money to show tonight’s movie was donated by the Fun Day in the Park Fund, while Kersting’s Cycle Center has offered to pay for the license for next month’s movie.

The Starke County Young Professionals Group is also working with the Town of Hamlet to add an outdoor movie there the second Saturday of each month.
