A popular amenity in Wythogan Park will soon be open for the season. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council last night the splash pad will be operational by about 11 a.m. Friday.
The city added it last year, thanks to generous donations of time, labor and equipment for the project after the city council and Knox Redevelopment Commission allocated funds for it.
The splash pad was a popular draw for both residents and visitors throughout the summer last year before it was winterized for the season last October.
