A contract with The Crossing will allow Knox students a second chance at getting an educational experience at their pace.
The Crossing offers an alternative way of educating students who may not thrive in a traditional classroom setting.
The Knox Community School Board unanimously approved a new contract with the alternative school on Monday night. The school will no longer have a facility in Knox, but a single site in Plymouth. Interim Superintendent Jim Dermody assured the school board that The Crossing will provide transportation for the students at no cost to the corporation.
The school corporation will only have tuition for the students that attend classes at The Crossing. The school will not be penalized for not sending a set number of students from the corporation.
High School Principal Dr. Elizabeth Ratliff said five students are expected to transfer to The Crossing next year and noted that this is a good placement for these students.
