Knox Mayor Dennis Estok says this year’s Fun Day in the Park was a success. “It looks like this will be the second year in a row that we actually have not had to use any of our own money,” he told the city council Tuesday. “We’ve supported that with all donations and two fundraisers and all that. I do know this year was the businesses that really did a great job supporting it. I mean, this is by far the most we’ve ever raised through donations.”
He said that many vendors from last year’s Fun Day returned, but the city wasn’t able to get any craft vendors to take part. Estok thanked the members of the Fun Day committee, for making the event a success.
