A two-day trial is scheduled to begin today in Starke Circuit Court.
Rodney Slusser is charged with two counts of attempted battery by means of a deadly weapon as a Level 5 felony, two counts of resisting law enforcement as a Level 6 felony and as a Class A misdemeanor, and misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and reckless driving.
According to the amended charging information filed in Starke Circuit Court on Monday, Slusser allegedly attempted to hit two officers with his vehicle, would not stop when ordered to do so by police, destroyed crops in a field and drove at an unreasonably high rate of speed. The events reportedly occurred on May 26 in Starke County.
The jury is expected to be seated when court convenes at 9 a.m.
