Culver Stellarbration and Sand Hill Farm Groundbreaking Today

The Town of Culver’s Stellarbration event is set for today at the Culver Beach Lodge. The town was named a Stellar Community in the state’s Stellar Communities Designation Program on Oct. 18 after two years of hard work to achieve the status.

Prior to this event, officials will conduct a groundbreaking ceremony on the Sand Hill Farms workforce housing development which is a project detailed in the Stellar Communities application. Construction of this structure will provide housing for those seeking one, two or three bedroom apartments who want to make Culver their home. The project helps complete goals of increasing housing and population, plus an increase in enrollment and economy in Culver.

The groundbreaking ceremony is at 3 p.m. ET today at 540 W. Jefferson Street.

The Stellarbration event will begin at 4:30 p.m. ET with Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch in attendance. That will be followed by an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET at the Culver Beach Lodge where the public is welcome to learn more about the program and the projects the town will focus on as part of their Stellar designation.
In addition to the Sand Hill Farms workforce housing development project, the town has plans for a Lake Maxinkuckee bike and pedestrian trail, major renovations to the Culver Beach Lodge, creating a western gateway to town on West Jefferson Street, the development of a Cavalier Sports Park on the grounds of the Culver Community Schools, and improved bicycle and pedestrian connectivity with additional sidewalks and connecting trails.
