The Knox Board of Public Works will meet today where a public hearing is scheduled for the property at 1 and 3 N. Main Street.
The board members took action in October to enforce unsafe building violations at that location. Mayor Dennis Estok said the Main Street property owner was previously told to replace glass in the storefront and respond to other violations within the building and it wasn’t done within the timeframe given.
Knox Director of Building, Planning and Code Compliance Kenny Pfost said a recent rental inspection of the upstairs apartments found several violations.
Following today’s public hearing, the board can determine what steps to take to remedy the situation. Violation fees will also be considered.
The board will also consider the purchase of a truck for the street department and receive information on projects in all of the departments.
The Knox Board of Public Works will meet at 9:30 a.m. today at the Knox City Hall.
