Two people were sentenced in Starke Circuit Court Wednesday morning on drug charges in two separate incidents.
Joshua Muzik, 20, of Monon, pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the state to a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced on that charge to 13 months in the Starke County Justice Center with seven months suspended to be served on probation. He also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended and was sentenced to six months in the Starke County Justice Center. Those two sentences will be served concurrently, or at the same time.
Muzik admitted to Judge Kim Hall that police found that he had a suspended license when he was pulled over in a traffic stop in downtown North Judson on Oct. 30, 2016. At the time, he said he told police that drugs were in the car and the officer did find methamphetamine during a search.
Christina Stultz, 42, of Wanatah, pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the state to charge of possession of chemical reagents or precursors with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine. She admitted that she purchased two ingredients at the Walgreens in Knox to assist in the manufacture of meth. The charging information indicated the incident happened on Jan. 11, 2017. A receipt was found in meth trash on the side of a road in La Porte County. From the time stamp and information listed on the receipt, police learned it was Stultz who purchased the items by viewing in-store cameras.
Stultz was sentenced to 12 months in the Starke County Justice Center with all of the sentence suspended to be served on probation.
