The West Central School Board discussed enrollment and the number of transfer students coming into the corporation.
Superintendent Don Street said 57 students from outside the school district attend West Central. He notes that it’s a positive statistic for the corporation, especially with what West Central has to offer students.
“At the elementary level, we have a really low teacher-student ratio,” explained Street. “Students are able to get more one-to-one attention. We also have one-to-one computers K-12. At the secondary level, our career and technical programs are very strong in welding, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, and business. We also have one of the first CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) programs in the state.”
West Central High School was recently recognized for the success of its dual credit courses.
